Lena let out a small laugh as Elise made her jokes. She was glad to have met someone else with a sense of humor. There had been a few times where the alchemist had ruined a lovely conversation simply because she had made too many jokes.
However, when the captain told the waitress to put Lena's meal on her tab, Lena sat forward, "Oh no, no need. Please, I can't have you pay for me. We've only just met." She turned towards the waitress, "I'll pay, don't worry."
Lena nodded in agreement as Elise talked about the military, "I agree, those in the army are insane - in a good way."
Contrary to what Elise may have thought, the alchemist listened intently as the captain talked about her ship. She had only ever been on a ship once, and that was when she had first come to Trevast. Since then, she had spent her time traveling by land - seeing all that there was to see around her. However, that meant that she was missing whatever sights that the sea had to offer.
Upon Elise's flattery, Lena merely flapped her hand and tried to be humble, "Oh please. I'm sure she's much more beautiful than me - both the sea and the ship." She smiled, and returned the compliment, "But I can't imagine that the Lucky Siren is as beautiful as her
If Lena was honest with herself, she would have gone for Elise immediately if she were not straight. Both Elise's personality and image were, in Lena's opinion, perfect.
In response to the captain's inquiry, Lena hesitated slightly. Through her own experiences, she knew that some thought that alchemists were witches who utilized the dark arts to create fowl creations. Still, it had never been so bad that Lena had feared for her life, and Elise seemed to be well enough traveled that she wouldn't even be surprised at the fact. "Well, I make things." She paused, "not a blacksmith or jeweler, but an alchemist. I make potions and powders and sell them to whoever's interested."
She chuckled slightly, and shrugged, "Still, not many people in Trevast are appreciative of alchemy so it's a bit hard to bring in the dough, but I make enough to get by comfortably."
She turned at the arrival of someone who appeared to be a knight. Quickly glancing at Elise, she quietly remarked with two raised eyebrows, "Ah, it appears to be one of the handsome men who like to play with each other's swords. Very interesting." She wiggled her hands during her last sentence for comic effect.

Elise couldn't help but enjoy the woman she was sharing a table with. Its been awhile since she had met someone with a similar sense of humor. Elise pouted some when the woman refused to let her pay for room and food, "I'd gone and said I was about to pay for ya Lena. But if your insistin' on payin for it I wont be forcein' it on ya." Thought that was hardly the truth, she was going to go to the bar maid and pay in secret before Lena could do anything about it. In all truthfulness part of it was because she was a bit infatuated by Lena, but the other half was a complete respect for someone with a free spirit making their own way in the world.
"You be sellin' yourself short if ya think that way. A lass like yourself would make the Sea a mite jealous." Lena's next reply brought a slight blush to her cheeks, "Ya might want to be careful with flattery like that, ya might jus find that it will get ya everywhere." Elise could feel her blush, but was glad it didn't last. She had always had issues keeping her blushes in control especially with someone as charming as Lena and especially after her last trip where her only companion had been her imgination.
Elise was actually surprised to hear that Lena was an alchemist, not many of them around in Trevast, most she met were in the foreign lands. Though her doctor had spent some time as one. However, Elise noticed Lena seemed a bit hesitant, probably because Lena was not sure how she would take it. She didn't want to but she couldn't stop herself from doing it. Elise's Face hardened some and her voice quieted a bit, "Oh, yer a witch?" , Elise couldn't hold it though and let a bit smile cross her face to show she was playing, "Na, don't be takin that hard, I have a right respect for alchemists. 'ell the ships doctor learned some of that. Though where changes every time he is drunk enough to spin that tale."
She shifted in her seat to make a bit easier to stand up, "This good to hear, figured most would be set in the old ways." Elise noticed the new visitor about the same time as Lena and chuckled "Indeed, an from lookin' at 'im I am sure he is an expert with playin' with other mens swords."
Elise gave her small nod of the head, "If ya wouldn't mind, I'm jus' gunna step away for a quick sec, forgot to ask for somethin from the waitress, and I think she mightn be a bit slow to return. Seems that fella over there is pinein on her pretty hard." Elise gestured to the man she figured was a Merc who was flirting pretty obviously with the waitress.
Elise walked with that same fluid and sultry walk towards the waitress and apologized as she stepped in between waitress and the man, "My apologies, If ya don't mind I will be but just a second here with your bonnie." She said the man, truthfully not wanting to interrupt.
Elise then leaned in on the waitress and whispered, "I would like to order a two rounds of your best for everyone here on me as well as cover the lass who's sittn with me for the days she wantin to stay 'ere and for my own food an drink. Anythin left over is for you, no need to be bringin me any change. An If anyone asks you can tell 'em I bought the drink's but otherwise no need to be tellin them it was me." With that she placed a purse in the bar maids free hand, enough coins to cover her request an and then some. With that she returned to leave, "She be all your's now." She remarked to the merc; as she walked awa, she examined the man who had entered, despite her earlier jest this man clearly didn't play anything he had the look of man who had truly seen it all.
"Sorry about that, just didn't want to forget it." She returned to her chair and relaxed again but made sure to keep an eye on the bar, hopefully with some free drinks going around it might just get a bit livelier than it was already, but she also wanted to keep an eye on the new comer. "You know, ya ever are wantin' take to the high Sea you are always welcom aboard my ship."

Hilde's eyes sparkled, and she chewed her lip for a moment, eyes breaking contact with Emil's as she smiled shyly. "It's Hilde," she said. Her hand suddenly found its way over to Emil's, and before she knew it she was touching the back of his hand. The second she realized this, her face turned red and she retracted it. "Sorry..." Her embarrassment was spared however when a woman came walking over. Her eyes widened as the woman whispered in her ear and placed more money than she had ever seen in one sitting into her hands. She looked at Elise, then back down at the money. There was a thrill of excitement at so much money and yet also of sour disappointment that she would now have to spend a lot of time pouring drinks rather than spending it with Emil. "Alright," she called. "Next round is going to be the best, and it's already covered."
The room suddenly perked up at that, and one man wooped. A few came over to have their drinks filled, and Hilde did so dutifully, although she did make often look and smile to Emil.
The newcomer instead headed over to the table with the two women, a wry grin on his face. "I would never touch another man's sword," he said. "It's very disrespectful, liable to get me punched." His tone was one of humour. His grin grew wider. "Now, putting arrows in women's quivers on the other hand..." He shrugged his shoulders. "That said, I have heard you have a ship, and I would be willing to pay my way. I need to go south." He dropped a golden coin the size of his palm onto the table. It had to be worth more than the building they were in 10 times over. Its design was strange, however, marked with the head of a manticore, and was clearly not of Trevastine design.
He smiled. "There's more if you need it."

Emil gave Hilde a warm smile as her hand touched his, his eyes meeting hers as she looked up at him. He was about to speak, but was soon interrupted by another of the tavern's patrons, who apologize for interrupting them and proceeded to buy a round for the rest of the tavern's occupants. This was the second interruption both he and Hilde had suffered, but it was to be expected as the only other person who could help with anything around here was a drunken old fool. It annoyed him, but there wasn't much he could do about it at present. So, he leaned back on his stool and finished his mug of ale in anticipation of the next round.
While his eyes remained forward, occasionally meeting those of the barmaid, his ears on the other hand picked up the voice of the most recent guest who had previously been sitting next to him. From out of the corner of his eye, Emil spied a gold piece materializing in the man's hand, and bits and pieces of wanting to book passage. It seemed he was making arrangements for his departure, which was altogether odd considering the festivities that were about to take place. The part of Emil's brain that had at one time been a knight in service to House Merov began running through the implications of what such an interestingly timed departure would mean, but being a mercenary, and even moreso being a survivor, he was inclined to keep to his own business as at this stage there was no reason for him to really get involved. Whatever was happening, which could very well be innocent, did not pertain to Emil really. What did however, was securing the affections of the bar maid.
And so it seemed he would have to exercise a bit of patience on that front.

Lena didn't notice the blush that crept upon Elise's face as she spoke, and couldn't stop her own face from flushing when the captain continued to flatter her.
She laughed as Elise paid back her initial joke and breathed a sigh of relief as she explained her views on alchemists, "Thats... nice. I wasn't exactly sure how you would take that." She chuckled slightly, "I would love to talk to that doctor of yours, it's been ages since I've been able to compare notes with another alchemist - former or not. I wonder if there've been any advanc-"
She realized that she was starting to rant and stopped herself, "Sorry, you know how it is."
She nodded and leaned back into her chair as Elise excused herself, taking a long draught of her drink as she did so. When Elise returned and the waitress announced the free drinks, she raised an eyebrow, "No problem, I'm assuming the drinks were your doing?"
In the back of her mind, Lena wondered why the young captain would do something like that, but she eventually left that train of thought; it was a free drink for her after all. Replying to the captain's offer, she thought for a moment, "I've spent enough time in Trevast, perhaps it's time to move on." She paused again, tilting her head up in deliberation, "I'll think about it. How much are you charging?"
When the aforementioned man joined their conversation, Lena grinned and laughed at his wry reply, "Of course, good sir. I'm certain you are very used to taking punches... and by the looks of it, you've never really had the chance to put arrows in a quiver before."
She laughed again, "I kid, please don't mind me."
Lena sat back as the man went on to request passage on Elise's ship

Elise did notice some Lena's own flush and gave her a bit of relief and helped keep her going.
Elise is visibly happy that her companion for the evening still had a good sense of humor and was enjoying hearing her start to go off about what she loved. She loved that in all of her partners, that lust for what they loved. "No need to apologize I love it when people 'ave a passion 'n life, an' I'm sure my doctor would just love to talk about evry thing he could."
Having returned she grinned, as she replied to whether she bought the drinks or not, "Aye, Lena. Sometimes when yer havin' a good time ya need to share it." She paused and gets a devilish grin, "An besides, some times its fun to just sit back an watch a fight break out because some poor sod spilled a drink."
Elise could almost hear as Lena thought about whether she was staying or going."Well it depends some, if your wantin just to take a sail I will give you a deal as the captains guest but it would still be fair amount dependin on where your goin. If you came on as a hand for the voyage to where your wantin to go and helped out around the ship I would take you fer free." She relaxes back into the chair, "I won't be makin you do anythin you cant just helpin where ya can if you choose that route."
When the man came over to their table Elise was a bit suprised but glad the man at least wasn't as serious as he had looked over at the bar and she jested along with Lena, "Aye, I think yer correct my friend, doesn't seem to look like he knows much about a quiver." She nodded as she chuckled, "Though I kid as well, a man who can't take a joke doesn't make for a good conversation."
She didn't let much show on her face when the man asked for passage on her ship, though the amount he was willing to pay sure did. Though more so than that was the coin itself, it was a long way from home. It wouldn't be too unusual in a port city but to see one so far inland was a strange sight for sure. She serioused up some when she seen the money. "You wouldn't be mindn if I check it would ya?" She takes it from his hand and does all the normal checks to make sure its a real coin. "I must say, this coin is a long way from, nevr would hav' expected to see one of these so far inland."
She returned the coin for now, "Now the question is how many you need transportin, an' 'ow many ya takin with ya? People are expensive to be takin, less cargo and more stores of food. If you goin' anywhere around 'ere in trevast that can get you passage for about one or two people. If yer planin' further then that I will need to know a bit more where you goin'."
Elise does lean in so only Lena can her her and whispers, "I would never charge you close to that."

The man rolled his eyes playfully at Lena. The woman was clearly something of a tease but he clearly didn't mind all that much. His eyes returned to Elise, however, and he leaned in. "I need to get to the city of Talmescu, down in the Ettinlands. I know it's a bit out of the way but I'm looking to make something of a family reunion and it'd be very helpful if I could get there quick. It'd just be me you'd be transporting. What I've given you there should be enough to buy enough provisions to last you a couple years, so I don't imagine it should be too much more expensive, no?"
Hilde returned to Emil, looking at him with a coy sort of look. "Well," she said. "I think that should be everyone for a while..." she put a hand on his shoulder. "So, tell me, Emil... Do you always hit on barmaids or am I special?

"Not every barmaid is as alluring as you." Emil's devilish grin returned, undressing Hilde with his eyes as he spoke. He gladly accepted the fresh mug of ale, taking a sip of it before setting it atop the bar. "Believe it or not, most taverns i've been too don't have much by way of pleasurable company. Most people I encounter are either surely mercenaries or barkeeps who only care about coin. So, trust me when I say this is a very welcome and unique change for me."
He casually placed a hand atop Hilde's, and added: "Although i'm sure you have no problem attracting the attentions of any man you wish. Especially with eyes like that." He paused a moment before eventually changing the subject. "If I recall, you said you've always wanted to go adventuring, eh?"

Elise eyes the man, it was true he was paying more than his worth for this trip though before she asked for more she looked the man straight in his eyes, "So ya need to get their fast eh? Is there going to be any sort'a entanglements if I take you on this trip?" It was her subtle way of asking if this was on the up and up. She made it a habit to not be a smuggler. While the pay was good the risk was usually greater and in the end it usually didn't pay out well enough for the work that goes in to it.
Elise leans back towards Lena, "Don't ya worry none, I can get ya takin' care of."

Lena smiled and nodded slightly at Elise's reassurance. She was becoming more and more interested in joining the charming captain the next time she set sail. Not only would she be able to meet a kindred soul in the ship's alchemist, but she would be able to go out and experience even more things!
She made her decision,
"I would love to join you on the trip, Elise, just point me to where I can help."
"Unless.." She turned to the newcomer and continued,
"You don't mind shelling out a few more coins for a traveller in need?"
She put on her best puppy dog eyes and tried to contain her chuckles.

Hilde laughed, and grinned at him. "Are you offering?" she asked, clearly thinking he was joking.
The man shook his head. "No, in fact a ship would probably ensure no entanglements at all. Much safer than simply walking. Trust me, that's what I did to get here and there are far more bandits wandering the roads than I ever expected. Could really use someone to crack down on them." He grinned, and then looked at Lena. "Unfortunately, where I come from we have a policy of doing nothing for free. Although, perhaps I could see you earning it. I detect a faint herbal, chemical odour about you. That makes me assume you have certain talents I could find quite useful. Is that correct?"

Elise smiled as she heard the man said that there would be no entanglements of any kind. "Aye, that be some good news. Though you can't blame the Lass for askin'. Don't go bein' all worri'd about her. I will make sure she has passage on my vessel." She looks back towards the bar where she can see the sellsword flirting again with the barmaid and picks out some words but it sounds like he was trying to get the maid out of the inn. "Alright, Lad you got yerself a ship. I will have a carriage waitin to get us out of ere and back to my ship. We will leave out the north gate just after sun up, bring yer stuff and have it ready to head out. I will send a courier to me ship to have it ready to make sail."

Lena's eyes widened slightly, then quickly returned to normal. Well then, that certainly was a surprise. "I must admit, good sir, you have a fine nose on that face of yours."
She paused, cocked her head slightly, and corrected herself, "Well, a functional nose at the very least."
She winked and let the topic drop as Elise broke in with details on where to meet up and when the newly formed party would leave.
When the captain finished, Lena quipped, "Well then, it looks like we shall be in each other's company for a bit more time."
She turned towards the newcomer, "I'm Lena," she stuck out her hand for him to shake, "Lena Vulcaan. I can't say that I was excited to meet you but it certainly was a pleasure."

"Oren Chochek," he said with a grin, shaking Lena's hand. His grip was strong and practiced, the sort of handshake one gave when they had been doing it a lot. Before he released her grip, he also kissed her on the top of the hand. He nodded to Elise. "Alright then, it seems we are established and ready to go! Only a few things I have to do. I assume we will take some time to get to a port... Unless you plan to take the Tayd, of course. A river cruise could be nice."
Then, his eyes wandered the tavern, and they settled upon Emil. "Hey, you are a mercenary, yes?" He asked. "How would you like to come along! I could use some guarantees and at the very least you look strong enough to do some heavy lifting. What do you say?""
He beamed, his perfect smile radiant.

Emil smiled as Hilde laughed at what he said. He liked making pretty women laugh, particularly this one. He was just about to speak when the man behind him decided to address him. The timing seemed very convenient, considering the conversation him and the pretty lady were having, but not so much so as to make him fear the worst. "I might be interested... depending on two things." He rested his back against the bar, leaning heavily on his right arm as he continued. "First, how much are you paying?"
He then turned his head and gave Hilde a small smile. "And second - you got room for two?"
