House Angulak (Chapillion) Founded centuries past by the originator of the House of Angulak, the House has in recent times split, with one half remaining as a Slaver Nation Power in Dramarch, and the other breaking into the Routaille Armed Forces, as a direct opponent to their relatives hedonistic and cruel ways. A member of their House, Marc Chapillion currently serves in the Routaille Armed Forces, having served during the revolution - and is a holder of the rank of Governor-General. Emperor Angulak however, the leader of the House currently serves as Emperor of Dramarch.

Emperor Philip Angulak Nursim Maz Kamer Born into the House of Kamer, to the elder of the House, Nursim - a proud and well respected dealer in sword slaves. Angulak, like many born into the Nobility of Dramarch, lived in the lap of luxury for much of his life. He was to work in the markets, and take part in the annual Reaping each year, before he was in a position wherein he was politically capable to rise to the position of Emperor - moving the seat of the Imperial House to his own Ziggurat as was tradition. It is not a widely known fact that the previous Emperor was murdered by Angulak, who drowned him in his swimming pool on the night of his 12th wedding anniversary. Add - taking imperial name - family split

Marc ChapillionBorn the Sir Marc Chapillion, 3rd Baron of Norducar in the northernmost reaches of the Kingdom of Routaille, Marc was never going to inherit anything of note - his personal domain limited to the ancestral seat of his house, a fortified manse at the heart of several minor villages. As such, he was quick to bore once he took over following the death of his father, from what he now knows to be the wasting sickness. Leaving the day to day running of the estate to his appointed steward, he took a small chest of coin and headed for the capital, wherein he took up classes in military tactics and strategy, as well as enrolling in one of the famed fencing colleges sponsored by the King, Odo III. As a side effect of his enrollment, he was introduced to certain inns and meeting places where members of the seeding revolutionary groups would meet and discuss political ideas deemed 'far above their station' by the Crown.
Not one to allow himself to get bogged down in debate however, he penned the pamphlet "A Common Mans Right To Arms" which advocated that the Nobility should no longer have monopoly over the armed forces, stating inside that 'a state whose people are unable to protect it, cannot thus argue to afford protection to its people in turn - and a state that does not protect its people, must be exploiting them instead'. He was promptly exiled. Taking to the docks with a collection of his fellow fencing friends, he headed for the mainland and registered as a 'Free Company' owner in Luska, forming with what remained of his income the 'Gentlemen's Company of Chapillion' which would go on to serve alongside numerous forces around Trevast in the years to come.
Little more than a handful of fops on horseback when it started out, the Company would grow with the fame of its owners in time, and soon it had fought alongside the armies of the Valdez, Luskan Cities and even further South still - before fighting a campaign alongside the Boterim Shahs. All the while, Marc continued to become better schooled in warfare, as well as to learn more about the common practices of other Kingdoms and Starapys - especially how they treated their common folks. It was nearly a decade later when he heard tell of a revolution back home, and thus he disbanded his company and returned with a few loyal companions to play his part.
Arriving back as the revolution was in full swing, he moved to his lands in the north once more, and made to levy a collection of men to fight for the Revolution. It would turn out that his tactics practised on the mainland, would serve him well here - and bringing together commoners on foot, and lesser nobles on horse, he soon had a mobile and flexible force to contribute to the army. Obtaining several stunning victories in the fields, against vastly larger armies, he was appointed General before the close of the Revolution, an Office he carried through when he was instructed to act as Governor for the State of Chalord (formerly a Duchy).
Personality
A staunch supporter of the Military as a means to improve the State, he is a member of the Liberators faction in the Assembly of the Masses. Well educated, in matters of religion and state, he has a harsh outlook on life, born of an understanding that war is never that far away. Marc is a pragmatic man, understanding the need for a strong central authority that acts in the best interests of the people, and to that end he often considers that most members of the uneducated masses are unsure of how best to Govern their own lives.
